We’re proud to announce the exciting addition of the Foundations program to our San Juan Capistrano campus. Foundations is a partner school that serves students from 1st through 12th grade who have learning challenges, such as dyslexia, ADD, auditory processing, and comprehension difficulties.
This weekend marks the kickoff to the end of the school year and the beginning of summer! With backyard barbecues and beach blanket picnics still on pause, it’s up to us to rewrite tradition and reimagine ways to connect and create memories with our family. That’s just what our summer team has been doing and we’re excited to launch our reimagined Camp-at-Home program!

Fairmont Prep senior Leela Gala has been serving children in shelters and underprivileged communities for many years. In her freshman year, she decided to create an opportunity for other Fairmont students to participate and created a club that provides food for a children’s shelter. With the help of teacher Mrs. Kunkle, the group grew to such a degree that by Leela’s sophomore year, Leela set the group up as a 501(c)(3) called Food Served Here.
Dr. Afsaneh Miller, Fairmont Schools science teacher and scientist, who helped build a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM-based curriculum at Fairmont, is committed to continually provide more creative and effective ways to educate her students.
Through her studies, Olivia discovered that doctors use a math formula from 1916 to determine chemotherapy dosages for adolescents. While satisfactory, the method does not take into account certain factors that are unique to youth. Olivia decided to create a new formula that would take these factors into account and help doctors adjust prescribed treatments for young patients.
We need to distance ourselves, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help each other. Parents need to remain healthy physically as well as mentally and emotionally in order to effectively care for their children.
