How do I apply to Fairmont Schools?

Is Fairmont Accredited?
Yes! All Fairmont Schools campuses in California are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), as well as by Cognia. Fairmont is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
What is the cost of tuition?

Financial Aid

Fairmont Schools is committed to providing a quality education for every student who walks through our doors. As part of this effort, we offer financial assistance based on need. What are the requirements for admission?

We encourage all students to apply for admission. Here are the items you will need to submit or complete, along with the application and application fee.

Pre-Kindergarten – 8th Grade

  • Copy of two full years of report cards
  • Copy of birth certificate and/or passport
  • Copy of immunization records
  • Math & English teacher reference form (Middle School only)
  • Standardized test scores
  • Completed preschool packet (Preschool and Pre-K only)
  • Fairmont admissions assessment

9th – 12th Grade

  • Copy of two full years of report cards
  • Copy of birth certificate and/or passport
  • Math teacher recommendation
  • English teacher recommendation
  • Copy of standardized test results taken within last two years
  • Consent to Release School Records
  • Fairmont admissions assessment
  • Shadow day
Are there any assessments required for admission?

Preschool – 8th Grade

Prior to admission, your student will need to take an assessment test which will be scheduled on an individual basis by the Admissions Director.

9th – 12th Grade

Fairmont does not require a high school applicant to take a formal school entrance exam. As part of the admissions application, Fairmont requires applicants to submit 2 years of report cards, a copy of a standardized test taken within the last 2 years, and English teacher and math teacher recommendations. They must also participate in an on-campus interview. With these pieces, the admissions team will have enough information to make an admissions decision.

Do students have a dress code?

Yes. Fairmont students are required to wear school uniforms. Uniforms are available for purchase through our approved provider.

Is hot lunch available for my child?

Yes, Fairmont partners with a food service company to provide quality meals for students. Parents can pre-load money into an account for their children. Monthly menus are posted on the website.

Does my child need to be potty trained to enter preschool?
Yes, preschool students must be fully potty trained and completely independent when they use the bathroom.
How do I schedule a tour of the campus?

Are there any fees associated with applying to Fairmont Schools?

What is the application deadline?

Candidates are invited to submit an application anytime. Under our rolling admission policy, acceptances will be issued as space is available.

 

When will I find out if my student has been accepted to Fairmont?

Once Fairmont receives your application and all checklist items are completed, your application will go to the Admissions Committee of your campus of choice. You will be notified of the enrollment decision via email or phone call within one to two weeks, often sooner. Each campus will review applications until all spots have been filled.

My student is interested in the Advanced Science and Engineering Program (ASEP). How do I apply?

ASEP is an Advanced Program offered at Fairmont Preparatory Academy for enrolled high school students who have a strong interest in STEM. The program cost is $2,500 per year and students must apply and be accepted in order to participate. For more information and a link to the application and requirements for ASEP, click here.

My student is interested in the International Business Program (IBP). How do I apply?

IBP is offered at Fairmont Preparatory Academy for enrolled high school students who have a strong interest in business and marketing.
