Health + Wellness

“Social Emotional Learning is a vital part of what we do at Fairmont because it develops the student all around and sets them up to be more successful academically.”

Student & Family Counseling
Fairmont Schools is dedicated to helping students thrive not only academically, but personally. Teachers receive extensive training in social-emotional learning (SEL) so they can help attend to the overall wellbeing of their students.
Our on-staff Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist works in tandem with parents, teachers, campus directors, and academic counselors to help identify both academic and personal challenges that may prevent a student from achieving their personal best. Focus is also placed on fostering a culture where a growth mindset is nurtured and fully integrated into daily school life.

Flex Period
As part of our commitment to developing social and emotional skills, and providing more options for balanced study, we offer a daily Flex period for middle school and high school students. During this Flex period, students may choose to work on homework, get one-on-one tutoring from teachers, meet with their counselors, or take a break to read or refresh.
Flex provides students with an opportunity to develop essential self-awareness and self-management skills, social awareness and relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Students take full advantage of Flex to embrace their academic drive and foster self-growth, preparing for college on multiple levels.
