Advanced Business Program

In the Advanced Business Program, students at Fairmont Prep Academy understand business within the context of culture and ethics. As part of their studies, they attend seminars and take a variety of applicable advanced courses, including entrepreneurship, business management, leadership, and business marketing.

Advanced Business Program (ABP)

Advanced Business Program (ABP)

Fairmont’s ABP empowers students to excel in business, marketing, economics, and entrepreneurship, preparing them to enter top colleges and start successful business ventures. Students complete 230 credits, combining rigorous core subjects and electives at College Preparatory (CP), Honors (H), and Advanced Placement (AP) level, and fulfill 20 hours of community service each year. All our courses are UC approved.

The Advanced Business Program is an advanced track program geared to prepare motivated students for entry into the global marketplace, helping them to understand business within the context of culture and ethics.

ABP flagship courses

At our High School in Orange County, students have the option to choose from Honor and Advanced Placement course offerings guided by experienced business educators. Every year, students take a core ABP course, building advanced knowledge on international best business practices and entrepreneurial vision by the time they graduate.

Intro to Business & Finance (H)

Through this introductory course, students explore management, marketing, and finance, connecting business concepts to real-world challenges. They analyze how culture, ethics, and social issues shape global business, mastering essential terminology and thinking critically about the decisions leaders face.

Every lesson is a chance to lead discussions, share ideas, and apply learning to real scenarios. By the end of the course, students own the skills and confidence to navigate today’s business world and drive change wherever they go.

Intro to Business & Finance (H)

Essentials of Marketing (H)

Learners discover key marketing concepts, frameworks, and terminology, gaining the skills to analyze consumer behavior and understand how marketing strategies shape decisions.

Through hands-on exercises, class discussions, and sharing personal experiences, learners master the integrated marketing mix - Product, Promotion, Pricing, and Place - and learn to build competitive advantage.

This course is developed in partnership with Syracuse University.

Essentials of Marketing (H)

AP Macroeconomics

Learners get curious about the forces shaping economies, both at home and around the world. They dive into the heart of national and global economic problems, exploring how institutions and government policies drive growth, stability, and change.

Students lead discussions, present research, and write analytical essays that connect theory to real-world challenges.

Intro to Entrepreneurship (H)

Students explore entrepreneurship as a mindset, attitude, and process. Learners assess, critique, and celebrate the creation of new ventures, focusing on how ideas become successful businesses. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable entrepreneurship across careers, organizations, and societies, guiding students through the evolution from start-ups to major corporations.

Learners develop the skills to think and act entrepreneurially, apply practical strategies in any organizational setting, and understand the factors that drive long-term success.

AP Microeconomics

AP Microeconomics introduces students to the foundations of individual decision-making in economics. Learners interpret graphs, analyze data, and evaluate how scarcity, costs, and benefits influence choices in markets.

The course encourages learners to investigate production behaviors and assess the impact of public policy on market efficiency.

Business Management (H)

At our High School in Anaheim, California, students lead discussions exploring the full spectrum of management principles and leadership strategies. They analyze business ethics, strategic planning, operations, finance, marketing, and HR through hands-on case studies and simulations.

Project-based learning drives students to solve problems, make smart decisions, and innovate. Students grow as leaders, ready to shape organizations and drive change in a global business landscape.

Business Communication - Capstone (H)

Learners drive outcomes integrating business topics and applying practical skills to launch and manage their own venture. They lead discussions, solve problems, and track progress integrating various business topics including Accounting, Personal Finance, Administration, Operations, Communications, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, and Economics.

With guidance from teachers and real-world partners, students explore career options and celebrate growth in a space built for ambition and achievement.

Business Communication - Capstone (H)

ABP Internship

Students take charge in ABP internships, gaining hands-on experience in their chosen field. They spend time observing and practicing real professional tasks, not just filing or answering phones.  

Every internship is student-led - learners log hours, describe duties, and present a summary of their experience, with feedback from a campus supervisor and the professional. School credit is earned for meaningful work that sparks curiosity and builds confidence.
