Message from our Head of School

Dear Fairmont Families,

The amps were turned up and the energy was electric from Monday through Friday — and our Eagles absolutely brought the house down.

On Tuesday, we rang in the Lunar New Year in style — and this year hit a brand-new high note! For the first time ever, we had student performers, and let me tell you… they were phenomenal. The talent that lives right here at NT is nothing short of amazing. It was such a powerful opportunity for our students to step into the spotlight and shine. A standing ovation goes out to everyone who worked behind the scenes — from the thoughtful preparations to the delicious snacks to the beautiful decorations. And can we talk about the fashion moment? Our community looked absolutely fabulous in cultural attire. The pride, the joy, the celebration — pure magic.

Wednesday morning, Mrs. Cooper’s class took the stage and WOWED us with a peek of their biography reports. Each student embodied their chosen figure — dressed to impress and ready to share notable accomplishments. Their stage presence? Next level. The audience was completely captivated — you could hear a pin drop between applause breaks. The confidence, preparation, and poise on display were show-stopping. Bravo, scholars!

We also celebrated our students who exemplified this month’s character trait: Caring. Congratulations to our incredible Elementary and Middle School recipients. You make our campus kinder, stronger, and brighter every single day.

Our 4th graders rocked the stage with a California history showdown on Thursday, and on Friday the 5th graders totally crushed it with their American Revolution takeover! Every student looked amazing, nailed their parts and expert cards, and brought history to life like true headliners. The energy was electric, the learning was loud, and everyone had an absolute blast!

Thursday we welcomed our counselor, Mr. Chance, alongside Ms. Thomas, our Fairmont-wide LMFT, for a meaningful parent presentation. The information shared was thoughtful, practical, and empowering. It was wonderful to see so many families join us — because when school and home team up, that’s when the magic really happens. Huge thanks to the FPA for continuing to provide opportunities that bring us together in such impactful ways.

We closed the week with our fourth Spirit Assembly, and the crowd went wild! Students representing their homerooms and grade levels squared off in the legendary Whitney Challenge — a game that looked easy… but was surprisingly tricky! There was laughter, there was suspense, there were epic moments. And in the end Alisha M. in second grade claimed the fourth drone mic drop and ultimate bragging rights. Did I mention that Van Weezy from Halloween in years past showed up? He performed despite the heat to the adoring crowd, adding even more electric energy to the day. What a way to wrap the week!

Hold onto your bookmarks because next week we’re turning the page into something spectacular! We’re celebrating Read Across America with:

  • A special author visit from Stuart Gibbs
  • A campus book drive
  • Spirit-themed dress-up days
  • And so much literary love

A heartfelt thank you to the FPA and Ms. Ralonda for helping us amplify our passion for reading. It’s going to be a page-turner of a week!

Fairmont Families, thank you for being part of this incredible community. The rhythm of this campus is strong because of you.

Have a wonderful weekend — rest up and get ready to rock another week.

Warmly,

Dr. Jennifer Maan
