What's happening
At Fairmont North Tustin, students flourish in a vibrant multilingual community where curiosity meets confidence. Beginning in Preschool, Spanish is woven into daily lessons, fostering both language fluency and cultural curiosity alongside English development. Non-native English speakers thrive through our English Language Support program, with regular language assessments ensuring each student’s growth is carefully tracked and supported. Â

Preschool
Young learners discover Spanish through playful activities focused on fruits, vegetables and food. From naming favorite snacks to learning about the five senses, children build vocabulary and confidence in a nurturing environment.Â
Songs, games and hands-on experiences make language learning joyful, helping every child connect with new words and cultures as they grow together.Â
Elementary School
At our American Elementary School, students deepen their Spanish skills by exploring everyday topics including clothing, table settings, and emergency phrases. Each year brings new adventures - from identifying colors and parts of the body to practicing verb conjugations and celebrating holidays. Â
Interactive lessons encourage students to speak, ask questions, and share ideas, preparing them to communicate confidently and appreciate diverse cultures in and beyond the classroom.Â
Middle School
At our American Middle School, students participate in Spanish classes 3 times per week, with each unit lasting approximately 4 weeks.Â

In Grades 7 and 8, they engage with authentic sources to prepare for the Advanced Placement (AP) Spanish Language and Culture exams.Â

All Fairmont campuses foster multilingual learning and provide a robust support system for every student. Our approach to language education follows two main pathways:Â
Students begin exploring foreign languages from their very first days in Preschool. Spanish is integrated throughout the specialty curriculum from Early Childhood through 5th grade. As students progress into Middle and High School, they continue to discover new languages, developing skills that open global opportunities.Â
English Language Learners (ELL) receive targeted instruction through three specialized support programs. These programs help students achieve fluency, succeed academically, and fully engage in all aspects of school life.Â
International students step up and fast-track English fluency with support from a specialist team. The International Foundation Center tailors every intervention, so students practice speaking, reading, writing and listening every day. They join lessons, ask questions and connect with classmates, building confidence as they go.Â
Spanish as a core subject has not only fascinated me as a language but also intrigued me as a form of culture, a form of expression.
Celine, 8th Grade
It has also improved my confidence to speak in another language, as the Spanish language is extremely useful in Central America. Overall, it has helped me develop skills that I can use not just in class, but in everyday life.
