Students aged 11 to 15 finalize their journey at our Middle School in Anaheim advancing to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). Many continue their academic journey at Fairmont Preparatory Academy or pursue other high school pathways with success.
Advance to specialist classes with the IB MYP, creating a curriculum of core and elective subjects. In recent MAP Growth testing, 81% of students scored in the 95th percentile for Maths and 71% in the 89th percentile for Language Usage.
Organize the workflow, manage deadlines, reflect on progress with confidence. Building media literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication through the ISP Life Competencies and IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning frameworks.

At Fairmont Historic Anaheim, students advance to a forward-thinking and inquiry-based IB Middle Years Programme. According to standardized testing, grades, and teacher recommendations, they enroll in either Standard or Honors-level courses.

Students enhance theater skills through improvisation, mini-scene prep, and ensemble work, learning to think on their feet, collaborate, and express themselves. Every semester ends with a live performance, where students own the stage, deliver lines, and celebrate their progress in front of a real audience.
Learners explore the elements and principles of design, including line, form, color, value, texture, balance, rhythm, variety, harmony, and emphasis. Through drawing techniques, diverse media, and art history, students build artistic skill, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for creative expression.
Students deep dive into music theory, genres, and instruments through hands-on projects and technology. Composing original pieces, learning about music production, and engaging with a variety of musical styles, they deepen their appreciation for music. Honor band hopefuls can use this course to meet eligibility, while all participants sharpen their musical abilities and discover new forms of expression.
Learners discover the basic components of a computer, as well as a broad range of applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation programs. They also explore basic photo-editing, media literacy, animation techniques, and basic HTML web design.
Robotics engages students with the FIRST Inspires series, guiding them through the design, building, and programming of fully functioning robots. Students learn computer programming, sensor technology, and data analysis, applying critical thinking in math, science, and electronics.
This elective introduces students to the fundamental components of debate, including research and note taking, speaking and listening, and argumentation. Students challenge themselves with various styles of debate, like Public-Forum, Parliamentary Debate, and Extemporaneous Speaking.
Through this elective, running only in Semester 1, learners are immersed in the world of global diplomacy, where they serve as delegates in dynamic United Nations simulations hosted by ISP schools worldwide. Through research, debate, and public speaking, students develop skills in international relations and negotiation.
Students discover graphic design, photography, and journalism as they curate content for the school yearbook. Acting as documentarians, they capture campus life, develop visual and written communication skills, and gain practical experience in publishing.

Students take charge of their academic journey and track progress every step of the way. Grades, progress reports, and report cards show how students are doing, while standardized tests including MAP Growth, CTP, WRAP Writing Test, and TELL measure skills and growth.
Students also celebrate big wins in Honor Roll, Head of School Honor Roll, Science Fair Award Winners, Speech Festival Winners, Spelling Bee Winners, and Community Service Awards. Every achievement is earned, every milestone is celebrated, and students own their success.
Guided by ISP Life Competencies, the IB Learner Profile and the Approaches to Learning frameworks, students lead group projects, share ideas, and collaborate to solve real-world problems. They organize their work, manage deadlines, and reflect on their progress.
Learners research, analyze information, and use media literacy to dig deeper and present findings with confidence. Communication is key: students express themselves clearly, listen actively, and adapt their message for different audiences. Creative and critical thinking drive every lesson, as students design solutions, question assumptions, and transfer learning across subjects.
In Grade 6, all students study one semester of Spanish and one semester of Mandarin, with a focus on an introduction to language and culture.
By Grade 7, students choose a focus, Spanish or Mandarin, and build skills over two years, preparing to enter Spanish 2 or Mandarin 2 as high school freshmen.Â
For those needing extra English support, our Level 2 and Level 3 language pathways ensure every student is guided and supported on their journey.
Through International Schools Partnership’s ILOS, students join ISP Artists and ISP MUN, collaborating with peers worldwide, building skills, and growing in confidence.
Every year, students take learning beyond the classroom: sixth graders head to science camp in the local mountains, seventh graders explore northern California, and eighth graders experience history firsthand in Washington, D.C. These experiences spark curiosity, build resilience, and create memories that last a lifetime.
