Parent Coffees give families an easy, low‑pressure way to connect with our community at the start of the day. Right after morning drop‑off, parents gather with school leaders for informal conversations where they can ask questions, share observations and stay close to what’s happening on campus.
In these relaxed settings, families build relationships with each other and with the team that knows their children so well. Parents have space to talk about what’s working, where they see opportunities and what matters most to them. This ongoing dialogue keeps communication open and honest, reinforcing a culture of partnership, transparency and trust.
Cougar Chats invite families into thoughtful, small‑group conversations about what it means to raise children today. In these sessions, parents explore topics like child development, social‑emotional learning, digital wellness, behavior and boundaries, and how AHC’s programs support learning at different stages.
Each conversation is grounded in leading educational research and thought leadership, drawing on voices such as Jean Twenge, Theodore Sizer and Brené Brown. Rather than prescribing one “right” way to parent, Cougar Chats create space for parents to share realities, ask honest questions and reflect together.
Family community events turn campus into a place where learning and belonging go hand in hand. Throughout the year, families come together for movie nights, seasonal celebrations and other on‑campus gatherings that make school feel like a second home.
Students experience their teachers, friends and families side by side, sharing laughter, stories and memorable moments beyond the classroom. Parents meet one another in a relaxed, welcoming setting, building friendships that often extend well beyond the school gates.
The Fairmont Parent Association (FPA) is a key partner in shaping daily life at AHC. Made up of engaged, community‑minded parents, the FPA collaborates closely with the school to organise events, lead service projects and support campus initiatives that enrich every student’s experience.
Families who join the FPA gain a direct way to contribute their time, talents and ideas. Whether helping at a festival, supporting teacher appreciation efforts or leading a new community project, parents model generosity, engagement and shared responsibility for students.
By working side by side with school leadership, the FPA helps ensure that decisions reflect what families value most. This partnership strengthens connections across campus and shows students that school is a place where adults collaborate, care and show up for one another.
