Preschool
Beginning in one of the best Kindergartens in California, students start learning both Mandarin and Spanish through regular, age-appropriate lessons held 1–2 times per week for 30–50 minutes.This early, balanced exposure nurtures curiosity about new languages, strengthens listening skills, and helps children see how language is closely connected to culture, identity, and meaning.
Elementary School
After Kindergarten, students select either Mandarin or Spanish to study through Grade 5, developing strong foundations in vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.Lessons are engaging and build confidence, allowing students to experience language as a meaningful way to connect with people and places and not simply memorize words.
Middle School
Grade 6 marks a natural transition point for many students. At our Middle School in Anaheim Hills, families may choose to continue with the current language or make a switch, with Mandarin and Spanish offered in parallel tracks to ensure smooth progression and support at every level. By the end of Grade 8, students complete Spanish or Mandarin Level 1 for High School, aligned with California State World Language standards. This prepares them to begin Level 2 as freshmen, placing many on an accelerated path toward advanced or AP-level language study earlier in High School.
Every Fairmont campus celebrates multilingual learning and gives students the tools to thrive. We support language growth through two main pathways:
Students start learning new languages from their first days in Preschool. Spanish features in daily lessons from Early Childhood through Grade 5. As students step into Middle School and High School, they keep building language skills, preparing to connect with people worldwide.
International students receive personalized support from a dedicated team, helping them build English fluency quickly and feel fully connected to their learning and school community.
