Diversity and cultural celebration
At Fairmont, diversity is something we live every day. As one of Orange County’s few non-religious private schools, our community reflects a vibrant blend of cultures, languages, and traditions.Students lead the way in celebrating diversity through campus-wide events, holiday showcases, and community gatherings that bring everyone together. Our Fairmont Parent Association also plays a key role, highlighting customs, cuisine, art, and music from around the world - helping students experience, understand, and appreciate the beauty of every culture.
Our English Language Learners (ELL) receive personalized support through one of Orange County’s longest-standing standalone language programs. Experienced teachers both challenge and encourage students, ensuring each one benefits from full immersion and the guidance needed to thrive academically and personally.
A Personalized pull-out program for elementary ELLs, with 1–3 hrs/week instruction to boost proficiency and confidence.
Middle schoolers advance their English through targeted support - semi-sheltered or added ELL classes. Progress is checked twice yearly to tailor instruction as skills grow.
ELLs engage in school life - clubs, sports, and activities - thriving in a supportive, inclusive community.
International ASSIST is a specialized pull-out program designed exclusively for elementary English Language Learners. Students are assessed at the beginning and end of the school year, with two additional assessments throughout the year. Support is tailored to each student’s evolving proficiency levels.
Students receive one to three hours per week of small group instruction from dedicated teachers who inspire curiosity and build confidence. Most students successfully complete the two-year program and transition smoothly into mainstream classes, growing academically and personally in a supportive environment.
At our private Middle School in Orange County, students build their English skills through two tailored pathways.Intensive Support offers adaptive classes, ensuring both targeted instruction and meaningful integration. Intermediate Support adds one additional ELL class to the regular course load, helping students develop fluency and confidence while continuing to make academic progress.Students are assessed twice a year, and their level of support is adjusted as their English proficiency grows.
ELL students participate in all aspects of school life. They join clubs, play sports, take part in after-school activities, and engage in specialty programs such as Speech and Debate. A dedicated support team ensures every student is integrated and thriving.
The impact is clear - students from around the world bring fresh perspectives, spark curiosity, and drive innovation across Fairmont’s vibrant, diverse community.
