The history of Fairmont began in 1953 when public school educator, Kenneth Holt, sought greater autonomy and the freedom to extend the curriculum in the public school system. When his efforts were unsuccessful, he started a summer program at his Anaheim home to help his students advance. The program was so popular with families that Mr. Holt decided to remodel his house and open a new school in September of that same year.
