Calling all hockey players! This fall, we are pleased to launch a new athletic program, Fairmont Schools Husky Warriors High School Ice Hockey Program.Â
The program will be available at Fairmont Preparatory Academy and Fairmont San Juan Capistrano (for high school students). The co-ed program launches with a junior varsity option this coming school year and will introduce varsity in the 2021/2022 season.
Training & Competitive Edge
The ice hockey program will include on-ice and off-ice practice sessions, weekly practice with an NHL level skating consultant, an NHL level strength and conditioning coach, and one or more games a week. Husky Warriors will also be part of the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League and participate in top showcase tournaments against other high school teams.
Finding Balance
Like Fairmont’s new Athletic Academy, this program combines athletics with Fairmont’s strong academic programs giving students the ability to play a top-level high school sport without neglecting their academic or personal life. While the program will be demanding for those who wish to excel and play post-high-school, it’s designed to accommodate a healthy school-sport-life balance.
The Fairmont Academic Advantage
Fairmont hockey athletes will not only thrive on the ice but also in their academic paths. Enrolling in our hockey program and Fairmont Schools gives students the option to take part in our rich academic programs like Advanced Science and Engineering, International Business, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Math, and 25 AP courses.
At Fairmont, students also receive individualized college counseling throughout their high school years to help them stay on the right track to reach their post-high-school goals, including college sports ambitions.
