During this difficult time, it’s more important than ever for parents to maintain their mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our Family Counselor Ms. Jill Thomas is offering open Zoom meetings where Fairmont parents can learn innovative techniques to turn this unique moment into an opportunity for growth. Ms. Thomas will share new, creative, and challenging activities to do as a family at home as well as positive and productive ways to take advantage of extra time (for those who have more). The meetings will cover topics like how to create private spaces in a tight area, how to get moments of one-on-one time with spouses or children, how to cope with anxiety, feelings of loneliness, and the stress of financial changes, as well as ways to keep children engaged emotionally, creatively, and socially.
Ms. Jill Thomas, LMFT, has been working with Fairmont for 17 years and is herself a Fairmont parent. Ms. Thomas has 30 years of experience with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine and a degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley. She specializes in family dynamics and interpersonal relationships, with a particular niche in crisis management and behavioral issues. Ms. Thomas supports all of Fairmont’s campuses, helping our students and families to manage a wide range of mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, stress, learning how to cope with feelings, and navigating complicated family dynamics.
