Six Free Kid-Friendly Summer Activities in Orange County

The school year has ended and the backpacks have been stowed! Now what? Spend some time as a family and fill up those summer days with these free Orange County activities!

Movie Mondays – Segerstrom Center for the Arts
With free evening showings, the Segerstrom will be playing classics like The Wizard of Oz, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Grease, Elf, and E.T.!

Marine Mammal Visits – Pacific Marine Mammal Center
Admission is free to those visiting the sea lions and other marine mammals at the rescue center. Tour the facilities and visit with the rescued and recuperating animals before they’re released back into the wild.

Arboretum Tours – Fullerton Arboretum
Tour the gardens and exhibitions that are home to local bird species and other small animals! Guided walking tours are free and allow you to explore the beautiful gardens!

Kids’ Workshops – Orange County Public Libraries
Check out your local library for a schedule of free summer workshops and reading programs!  

Tide Pools – Crystal Cove State Park
Check the tide schedule before heading out to explore the rocks and starfish at Crystal Cove! There’s a $15 charge for full day beach parking.

Dripping Cave Hike – Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park
Travel back in time to a place previously frequented by stagecoaches and robbers as you walk to Dripping Cave (often used as a hideout) and traverse the thirty miles of winding trails. There’s a $3 all-day parking fee.
