North Tustin Kindergartener Competes in Prestigious Golf Championship

North Tustin kindergartener Karina Jadhav spent her summer vacation traveling to golf competitions throughout Southern California. Jadhav, who also enjoys playing the piano and participating in gymnastics, qualified to play in the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships held in San Diego this past July. This tournament, which has grown to 1,200 participants representing 56 countries, allowed Jadhav to play against the best under-age-seven junior golfers from around the world and across the United States. Past winners of the tournament include professional golfers Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.

After competing in San Diego, Jadhav went on to win a second place medal in the girls’ six-and-under division at the 2015 Veritas World Junior Olympics held in late July. Jadhav, who has been golfing since age four, competed at the Brookside Golf & Country Club in Pasadena for four days before winning the silver medal. Jadhav was also featured in an article in the India-West newspaper.
