Sonali Nayak
For Sonali Nayak, Fairmont is a family tradition. While her brothers preceded her at Mable, Sonali has left her own unique imprint on our campus, and she is now continuing to excel at Fairmont Preparatory Academy. Sonali began at Fairmont in preschool and graduated last year as one of three co-valedictorians of one of Mable's most competitive eighth grade classes. She has fond memories of her years at Mable, particularly her participation on the volleyball, soccer and basketball teams with Coach Napier and her sixth grade year with Mr. Calabria who "made school fun every single day." Sonali also loved participating in the Eighth Grade Speech Festival and was honored as the top speaker in her class. She credits her Mable teachers for teaching her the art of writing through their structured and rigorous writing curriculum and for helping her hone her math skills in preparation for high school classes. As a freshman at Fairmont Prep, Sonali is continuing her involvement in academics and student life. She serves as the Freshman Vice President for ASB, volunteers as a Student Ambassador and participates on the Speech and Debate Team. Additionally, Sonali joined the volleyball team and had an amazing time this season meeting other Prep students and seeing all of her hard work at practices pay off when the team made it to the CIF Quarter Finals. She balances her time well between school and extra-curricular activities, and continues to excel academically due to her dedication to her studies. Family is of the utmost importance for Sonali. Her older brothers are her role models, and she enjoys spending time with them and her extended family whenever she can. Sonali aspires to continue on to college after high school and explore her passions there before deciding on a career path.
