Jonathan Dunn
Position: College Counselor
Additional Responsibilities: Mr. Dunn is a member of both the National and Western Associations for College Admission Counseling and is a Certified Educational Planner, giving him great expertise in the field.

Work experience: Jonathan Dunn comes to Fairmont after a rich career with several other private schools. He taught Advanced Placement U.S. History and outdoor education at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena, was a founding faculty member and the history department chair at Sage Hill School and served as the college counselor and history department chair and Director of Outdoor Education at the Palm Valley School. Most recently, Jonathan served as the Director of College Counseling at the Idyllwild Arts Academy, where he developed a thorough counseling program for students who went on to undergraduate study in both academic and artistic fields.
Hobbies, special interests: He is an avid outdoorsman and the son of two PhD Biochemists who were professors at USC.� He also is an adjunct professor of History and Political Science at a Southern California community college and teaches a summer class in Astronomy and the Space program at Pasadena Polytechnic School.�
What you enjoy most about your role at Fairmont? He invests a great deal of time getting to know students well enough to help them identify their own strengths and then uses his extensive knowledge about colleges and universities to help students effectively analyze choices that meet their needs.�
