Accrediting Commission for Schools – Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
All Fairmont Private School campuses in California are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC accredits over 4,500 public, independent, church-related, and private schools from preschools to universities. The WASC accreditation process fosters excellence in elementary, secondary, and higher education by encouraging school improvement. WASC accreditation recognizes schools that meet an acceptable level of quality, in accordance with established, research-based WASC criteria.
The College Board
Fairmont and Fairmont faculty and staff have received recognition by The College Board. The College Board is a non-profit membership organization committed to excellence and equity in education with a mission to connect students to college success and opportunity.
The College Board – Advanced Placement (AP)
Fairmont offers a wide array of Advanced Placement (AP) courses which are created, overseen, and audited by The College Board. Each AP course is developed by a committee composed of college faculty and AP teachers, and covers the breadth of information, skills, and assignments found in the corresponding college course.
International Baccalaureate (IB) World School
As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Fairmont adheres to a number of criteria in delivering IB curriculum including pedagogy, student assessment, professional development for teachers and the process of school authorization and evaluation. Fairmont offers world-recognized IB diplomas and certificates to students.
American Camp Association (ACA)
Fairmont Summer Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), the leading authority in youth development working to preserve, promote, and improve the camp experience. ACA accreditation guarantees that Fairmont Summer Camp meets or exceeds over 200 standards for student health, safety, and program quality.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. We advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
