Throughout the month of February, Fairmont Private Schools’ P-8 campuses will be welcoming prospective families onto their campuses for Open House. Open House season is an exciting time for our students who look forward to showing off their hard work to family members and visitors. Open House season can also be a busy time for families searching for the right private school for their child.

Fairmont Private Schools has been voted “Best Private School” in Orange County three years in a row in Parenting OC Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards. For over 60 years, Fairmont’s teachers, environment, academics, athletics, and overall experience have made it a natural fit for any child who wishes to expand their knowledge and recognizes there is always a new lesson to learn. The Fairmont difference gives our students a head start on a lifetime of learning and opens up many educational opportunities, including access to internships and a better chance at acceptance to their dream colleges and universities.

Enthusiastic & Passionate Teachers

Teachers are the true heart of any school. They are with your children for several hours a day, filling them with knowledge, helping them grow, and shaping them to be a responsible and educated adult. Fairmont teachers go above and beyond the call of duty, connecting with students in a meaningful way, holding high expectations, and enthusiastically setting the stage for learning. They are always on a quest for knowledge to continuously inspire their students to do the same.

Welcoming & Engaging Environment

Fairmont students are taught to be inclusive and sympathetic to their classmates. Our students follow the CHARACTER COUNTS! framework to foster positive change in “academic, social, emotional, and character development.” The six pillars of character emphasized are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. This year, we have seen our kids put these traits into practice in extraordinary ways, such as creating an anti-bullying app, giving back to a family in need, raising money for hurricane relief, and much more.

Highly Individualized Experience

Students at Fairmont are heavily encouraged to follow their individual passions. We have hardworking, dedicated hockey players, ice skaters, dancers, and other athletes who we work with to make sure they have a sufficient balance between their school life and activities outside of Fairmont.

A wide range of electives and extracurriculars on campus allow for students to try out multiple activities to better discover the ones they’re passionate about. Electives begin in junior high with classes like theater, debate, robotics, and art, while extracurricular activities are available after school for all ages in subjects like robotics, athletics, speech & debate, performing arts, and more.

Starting in 5th grade, students also have access to school counselor Mrs. Shibley, who ensures they have the best educational experience possible at Fairmont during their transitions from elementary school to junior high and then to high school. Mrs. Shibley gets to know each student to better understand the individualized support required for each during this critical time of their academic lives.

Academic Rigor

It’s no secret that Fairmont is known for its high standards of education. Students have won the academic pentathlon 25 years in a row and routinely win at county and state level science fairs. Our student successes so far this year include robotics achievements, students named top 300 Broadcom MASTERS, and debate bids with more to come as the year progresses.

One of the best aspects of a Fairmont education is how we encourage our students to reach their fullest potentials. If a student is ready to learn more about a subject, they are always allowed to move forward and learn at their pace. The same is true for a student who may be struggling with a subject. Our teachers are always willing to help their students better grasp concepts and ideas.

Competitive Athletics

Fairmont has DSL and Tri-Way league athletics for the elementary and junior high level, respectively. Fairmont sports include boys’ flag football, basketball, and soccer and girl’s volleyball, basketball, and soccer. There is also a co-ed soccer team on the DSL level, and cheer is available at the North Tustin Campus.

Recent sports achievements at our P-8 campuses include the Historic Anaheim Campus Tri-Way girls volleyball team’s first-place win at the Tri-Way championships, and, last year, the Anaheim Hills Campus DSL volleyball team won its second consecutive DSL championship! To add to those accomplishments, just last weekend, the North Tustin Campus cheer team placed first in its Public Universal Cheer Association competition.

College Promise

If your student continues on from a Fairmont P-8 campus to Fairmont Preparatory Academy and graduates, they may be eligible for the Fairmont College Promise. The Fairmont College Promise reflects the many years of student success that have resulted in the vast majority of Fairmont Prep graduates receiving acceptances and scholarships from the top 100 colleges and universities (as defined by U.S. News & World Report). Find out more at our Open Houses!
