Each Monday in October, Fairmont Prep staff, faculty, and ASB members wear blue “Stomp Out Bullying” shirts, designed by Fairmont Prep student Fara C. This movement is part of National Bullying Prevention Awareness month. The best part of this initiative has been seeing the sheer amount of blue moving through campus these past few Mondays. The number of teachers and staff that have taken a stance against bullying reaffirms Fairmont Prep’s values to create a safe and welcoming learning environment.
The pride and investment that Fairmont Prep teachers take in our school make it an engaging community for students and staff alike. Teacher involvement is key. Go to a football game and you’ll see teachers moving the chains and rooting on the Huskies. Attend the Homecoming Dance and you’re greeted by teachers and counselors. Eat lunch at the tables and watch as students and teachers gather to go over the latest test or simply catch up outside of the classroom. Participate in Prep Plus and join teachers in singing at Open Mic or playing in a badminton tournament.
The reason you see our teachers and staff everywhere is because they care. They want to get to know their students outside of the classroom environment. They recognize and understand the challenges that many Fairmont Prep students encounter and guide students through them.
The entire Fairmont Prep community is invested in the success of our students; academically, socially, and emotionally. Our headmaster of Fairmont Prep constantly refers to the school as “a family, one that is able to lift one another up and celebrate each other’s victories.” Everyone on campus takes that mentality to heart and is proud to be part of the Fairmont Prep family.
