Fairmont Private Schools has been voted the best private school in Orange County two years in a row in Parenting OC Magazine’s Readers’ Choice. Why should Fairmont win a third time? We think the amazing things our kids have done this year speak for themselves!
Our students have won many prestigious awards and contests this year in a variety of academic topics. Most recently, some of our P-8 students were honored for their high scores on the SAT (in 7th grade!) and SCAT tests at the Johns Hopkins CTY Awards Ceremony. Other achievements have included students winning the Orange County YouthSpeak Speech Contest, placing in first and second place in Orange County Pentathlon categories, winning first place in the team category of the Middle School Tournament of Champions Debate Tournament, winning the Orange County Spelling Bee, and we had two students recognized as 2017 Carson Scholars. Our students shined this year in science, winning multiple first place awards at the Orange County Science Fair, and winning first and second places in the state science fair in the Environmental Engineering and the Chemistry divisions.
Our students not only excelled in academics, but also the arts! So far this year, our students have won art awards in the 2017 Imaginology Contest and the City of Anaheim’s Water is Life Poster Contest. Winners of the Imaginology Contest had their artwork on display at South Coast Plaza over the last couple of weeks, while our winning students in the Water is Life Poster Contest were honored at an Angels’ game for their accomplishments. The Water is Life Poster Contest winners are now competing as finalists for the top five posters to be considered for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California‘s 2018 calendar.
As our Fairmont Preparatory Academy students prepare for this week’s graduation, we are so proud of all of the wonderful schools they’re moving on to. Highlights include two of our athletes, Tristen R. and Christina L., signing National Letters of Intent to continue being student-athletes in college. Tristen R. has accepted an appointment and basketball scholarship to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Christina has accepted a scholarship to play basketball at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Our students have also won some amazing scholarships due to their hard work, like student Ramsey G., who was awarded the $180,000 Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship.
Our students gave back to their community this year in some extraordinary ways. Our Fairmont Prep graduating class went above and beyond their required service hours over the last four years, surpassing their collectively needed 9,760 hour mark by 4,041 hours. They gave back a total of 13,081 hours to the community. Each year our Anaheim Hills Campus students donate hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths and Locks of Love. Since they began in 2013, and including this year’s donations, they’ve now donated 78 feet and four inches of hair to the organization. Our other campuses gave back through multiple school fundraisers for a variety of causes, including the Anaheim Police Department’s K-9 Unit, the Orangewood Foundation, the Happiest Class on Earth program, and more!
These highlights demonstrate just a small portion of the amazing things Fairmont students have done this year. For all of their accomplishments, let’s help them win best private school in Orange County for the third year in a row!
