On December 8th, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC) hosted a student art exhibit and reception in Los Angeles. Fairmont 4th grader Victoria A. and 8th grader Kaitlyn K. were both winners of the annual water conservation poster contest with entries entitled “Let’s Team Up and Save Water” and “Don’t Wait Until it’s Too Late,” respectively.

The reception began with an art exhibit and photographs of the contest winners, followed by a program hosted by Adrian Hightower, Unit Manager of Education Programs. MWDSC’s mascot Ricky Raindrop was also in attendance. Each student revealed to the guests the influences behind their artwork. They were also given a framed certificate of achievement along with several calendars made with their artwork. Congratulations, Kaitlyn and Victoria!
