Fairmont North Tustin alumna Sahar Khashayar’s solution for addressing the wildfire problem has attracted national attention. She recently appeared on the Tonight Show and was featured on the front page of the local section of the OC Register. We are very proud of Sahar’s accomplishment.
During her 8th grade year at Fairmont, Sahar invented a system that uses temperature, infrared, and gas sensors to detect a fire. Her invention earned her a major win at the Broadcom Masters national science competition, which included a $10,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington D.C. where she met President Barack Obama.
